thread the other day and realized that I might be doing everyone a disservice by not posting it here as well.

My neighbor is really into his offroading four wheel drive truck and does a considerable amount of camping out in areas without amenities and he has a very impressive hot water shower setup built right into his truck which in our case would be the tow vehicle.

It comes as an entire kit that you install onto the vehicle. He has used his for many years and says that he has never had a complaint about it. This is a fellow who abuses everything he takes out with him so that is a fairly strong recommendation.

I myself will eventually get my VW/Westfalia Transporter project sorted out and will use it as a tow vehicle. I'm not certain yet if this system will function with an engine that only uses oil for cooling but I hope to find out soon.

I believe that this along with your flavor of privacy and flooring contraptions would really be a wonderful addition to your experience. Since it would be preinstalled you would reduce the amount of material to carry along with you inside your tow vehicle or trailer.
Best wishes,
Gary

You had me going until I saw the price of $350.00. Holy Smokes!

I think for what I want I'll be getting the ZODI Shower Unit this year. I will have to upgrade a few parts to make it more durable, but it will be less than $350.00.

I would like to see more of how it is supposed to work and the basic concept of it though.

I believe this may fall...

Postby Stuttgartwerks » Mon Apr 30, 2007 7:59 pm

into the "you get what you pay for" category.

I myself see an investment into a quality addition to my camping experience and not an exaggerated expense. Personally, I can't stand dragging heaps of kit around with me wherever I go off to. I did that in the service and have no desire to repeat the experience. Isn't that one of the reasons we all agree that we aren't interested in tent camping anymore?

If I can minimize that and ensure that I have something that works as desired and reliably then I am willing to spend a little more up front to satisfy my desire to wander at a moments notice.
Best wishes,
Gary

I'm with Heikki, jumpin' in the 'ol lake when it's a snowin' is good for the heart - makes you remember that you got one and that you won't do that again. Many Polar Bear Club members here - ya shure...............

Shower

Postby chhamblen » Sun Jun 10, 2007 9:45 pm

Gary,

I'm with you. The less I have to pack/carry, the better. If you do get one of those showers, let us know if it's worth the money. I'm trying to think of a way to raise the extra $$$$ to get one!

P.S. I hated taking a "bath" in my steel pot.
