If the sun's that bright, do you need a fire so badly that you'll waste good chocolate to polish the bottom of a used beverage can? :? Eat the chocolate and you'll have enough energy to rub two sticks together. :lol:

I've never tried the parabolic soda can...seems a little out there to me....technically it makes sense, they used to sell solar cigarette lighters ..back in the 70s I remember by dad trying for some time and he couldn't get it to work,.

If a commercially polished and "aimed" wouldn't work, I have my reservations about a polished soda cans ability to perform. Same for the Baggie of urine.

But it sounds like a good project for our next, and last, outing of the year....

Here is a strange fire starter I just found on youtube. not that I recommend it, or have tried it.

We save out dryer lint and take a small amount when we go backpacking. Takes up hardly no space or weight.
