Free Camping Checklists

Postby cuyeda » Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:47 am

I came across this website http://thecampingjournal.com/ that provides free camping checklists, and an article, "Organize & Plan your RV Kitchen"

References are geared toward RV's, and can be adapted to our smaller trailers. Lots of good tips! Yes, they do offer a camping journal for sale, but I thought it was cool to provide these for FREE.

I snagged a checklist from CampADK and keep it in excel format on my pc.
I've used it every time I go camping and it's a great time saver, just to double check things like paper towels, matches, ... things that stay in the trailer but are consumable. Plus to remind me to put something back in , like chairs. And also when I think of food, I can note what I need at the store, etc.

I will gladly email it to anybody .....

Here is a copy of the checklist I have made. As it turns out, I redesign it a little bit after every camping trip! This year I went with a landscape design. I can fold it in half and put it on a small clipboard. It is based primarily on where we pack things., but for somethings, where they are located in the house. For example, all the "house" things are located together room by room, to make packing more efficient, but the "travel box" are smaller things we put in a plastic box that sits near us for traveling, things like books on CD, glasses, camera, etc. Then there is a section to mark off things that get used up during the trip that are kept in the tear for the season, like toothpaste or hot chocolate. And since we live in the boonies where some things are not available at our one grocery store, there is a spot for "buy on the way."

I got the CampADK one a few years back (great website too) and modified the sheet to meet my needs, then Xeroxed it and just pull it out to use. I also keep a grub box list for replacements of commodities. Cliff, thanks for sharing the link, and Debbie's list looks good also!!

For the smartphone and tablet inclined I use a handy APP called RV Companion by Creative Logic.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rv-companion/id329195954

It has To Do lists, Trip Logs, RV Info for maintenance logs etc. You could probably take your printed lists and put into the app. It even has a level and flashlight. Although I have those on other apps.

Coleman has a couple apps as well. The Camp Recipe app is fun to look at. They even have a Flashlight APP that uses Lantern graphics :)
