12V Electric Blankets

Postby pete.wilson » Tue Jan 06, 2009 8:39 pm

Hey

Has anyone used a 12V E.B. during camping, especially in the winter months.

I will be in norther OK so weather shouldn't be much below 30's. I will be sleeping in the back of my pickup and will have access to 12V from my trailer, I will also have 115vdc through a modified sine wave 2200 watt inverter on board the trailer also.

Why hasn't anyone found a dead bigfoot? When was the last time you found a dead deer, bear, coyote, fox, squirrel, etc. that died in the woods.........Hmmm.

Hey

Thanks Steve for the info. I'm going to look into the matress pad, I like how it intermittently shuts itself off and then on as needed.

For now I have flannel sheets and my sleeping bag which is rated to zero (if you believe that) and I will wear sweats. I can also run a short extension cord from the trailer (AC power) to a small ceramic heater to knock the edge off. :snowstorm:

Pete:

I have a heating pad I use when there is AC available.
Put it where my back & kidneys are and it will keep me nice and warm.
If NO AC ... then sweats and socks and lots of blankets.
Oh I have an gas heater I sometimes have opened the door to my trailer
and het it uP before bed time.

Just got mine and not used it yet. The response to the way it was hard to put back into the plastic pouch is strange or the person phys challenged as I opened it twice and was able to put it back each time without a problem.
