Grill - Parks and Campgrounds

Where would a person find an adjustable grill like the ones that are at campgrounds and parks? Better for pretending in my backyard.

My partner and I are considering building this for sale. Is it worth 89.00?

It fits in a folding chair sleve except for the grill. Worked great and I can use it at home or break it down for camping over the fire ring in the campgrounds.



The dutch oven table is obviously not a part of the crane. It comes with 4 legs the chains and a you can easily add a grill top.

bobhenry - That looks neat. I'm not good with prices though. I'm just playing with the idea of a permanent install, so I wouldn't be looking at that.

Have you been to a Menards? They have a bolt together heavy steel ring with grill on spike for $99.

A tractor rim and a cutting torch will get you a good round facsimile.

I had an uncle who built a grill this way.

Backyard manufacturies make grills from expanded metal and used barrels, too.

What I want is a real steel hibachi, for travel.

Bob, from the ones I've seen I'd say you're in the ball park price wise. And much less doesn't pay enough for your time. They are a great addition to any camp I think, I made up a tripod style one a couple of years ago. It's seen plenty of use in different fashions.

Since so many of the grills at campgrounds are pretty nasty, I wanted something that I could do a decent amount of cooking on that wouldn't require me using the camp grill. I just hammer the stake in next to the fire ring and slip the collar piece that locks the grill in place down over the stake. The nice thing is that I can just swivel it around and out of the way when I'm done cooking and want to have a good blazing fire. It's great because it packs flat (I saved the original box and just put it back in this when I'm done. It's a good size too so you can cook alot of stuff on it at once.

Yeah, just like that. But the more I thought about it I knd of got over it. I've got a good system now. The chimney briquette starter and then close the vents on the Weber when done and reuse the briquettes. I do think that it would be cool to have one of those in the backyard though.

Well since we have the thread already in place, and folks sometimes use the 'search' function, that type is generally referred to as a "Park Grill" (gee... I wonder why).

I have seen them selling (used) on my local craigslist from time-to-time @ $50 or less. Good new ones are about $185 (watch the shipping) - beware the cheap knock-offs.

i wish i camped at the kinds of places yall do....lol

i love camping...noone else in my "circle" has the same passion for the outdoors that i do...i have to build a camper with hot water and ac just to get my girlfriend to go with me...lol...sometimes wonder if it wouldnt be better just to get a new girlfriend that likes to camp...ha..
