Where to camp for Carlsbad Caverns

Al,

If you are coming out I-10, Karchner caverns are worth while. They have a campground with the park. Don't know how good it is, since we stayed in a hotel for that trip. The caves were discovered only about years ago and are very pristine. Need reservation to get in, they only let something like 300 people tour the caves. Not as big as Carlsbad, but much cleaner. They have learned a lot from places like Carlsbad in how to keep the caves clean.

By the way, if you head south to Tombstone, watch you speed. Local Sheriff loves to give tickets to speeding tourists. The only reason they did not get me, it was raining that day and I happened to go slow for a change.
