Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Anyone have any ideas for installing some type of mesh screens (The kind that are on tents) to use when you are set up at the camp site and it is too warm to close the doors on your TD?

Mine will not have airconditioning or a top vent.

yep...works quite well...you can even sew a zipper in so ya don't havvta "unvelcro" everytime you want in or out...gotta say, considering there will not be much air movement thru those screens, you really need to reconsider the top vent and since you are in the SA area, at least a Fantastic vent, if no AC is installed...if for no other reason, resale down the road...very least would be to frame in a 14.25x14.25 (with 1.5" stock) opening in the roof so the option to install a vent is available to ya..........

We use skeeter curtains up here. A simple curtain rod with a mesh fabric. We used fabric glue to get it to work so we didn't have to sew. They work pretty good and if we are in a real buggy place then we spritz it with mosiqetto repellant.

I have seen a few different variations out there. The folks at Camp Inn have some great looking screen doors for their teardrops. I have seen a few people make hard screens for their doors.

I hope this gives you some ideas.

Camp-Inn offers screen doors for their trailers. I have them on our new 500 Ultra and am currently getting one installed on my older 500 Classic.

You may be able to make them fit your TD trailer.

Has anyone tried strips of screen like the plastic drive through door in a cold warehouse? You know, several strips of overlapping screen.

Build another wood door just a tad smaller inside the tear door. I did this in my cargo trailer and it is great. It actually opens outward like a regular trailer camper. As long as it opens out it takes up very little room.

I read this a while back take to 1/2" thick boards put on weatherstripping on each one, Get your screen sew some material on each side off it about 1" wide then get a shade rod take off shade and stapple on your screen and put it behind the weather stripping and pull down and roll up when you need it up and you can sew a zipper in the middle

The screens are removable from the wooden door. I work for a window company.

Here's mine....made of canvas type fabric with screen sewn in the middle....Velcro's at the top and tucks right in at the door by the mattress.

Screen's are the best...

I did the overlapping pieces of screen thing that is velcro around the edges of the molding on the door. that way I don't have to unvelcro every time, but don't have to unzip either.

That sounds like a very clever idea.

I was going to make my screen a full door screen but I love your idea of having canvas on the bottom for a little privacy. Thanks for the idea!
