Door Hold Open Latches

Does anyone employ a hold open mechanism for their TD doors? I was thinking of something magnetic that would hold the door open when desired, but you could reach out and easily pull the door to close it. If anyone has any tips please post links of the items you've used, I'm running short on ideas and its almost Spring (YAY SPRING!!!).

Needed something so when window was fully open it would not hit side of td. These are available at all rv stores. Just needed to bend the one part to get the needed angle. Works great.

I sometimes wish I had not used the open out windows, but rather a slider so I would not have to worry about poking the side of my trailer with an open window.

That said, I would like something to prevent my door from opening completely unless I want it to, and something elst to hold it completey open when loading and unloading.

I solved this first problem with this

But I took it off to open the doors completely, and it has never made its way back on.

I use a simple piece of shock cord.

Tie one end to the inside door hardware and the outside to the tongue brace.

No damage any where.

Magnetic sounds like a good idea so I would like to see whatever solution you come up with. I would love for the wind to not blow the door closed. We used a Walmart bag last time it kicked up.

Great ideas everyone. On those releases that Barb metioned and Conestoga refered to as well . . . do you have to physically remove them from the latch to close the door? Or can you just tug on the door and it pops off?

with these white ones you have to snap the tab into and out of the
jiggy on the door.
i didn't think it was bothersome at all, especially considering the number
of times it kept the door from pestering me on windy days.

"I" have a Little Guy and the cheap latches they installed are pretty much worthless..if someone farts near by, the door swings closed. I jus use a bungee from the door frame and stretch it across to the other side of the trailer roof frame moulding..Tah Dah !! It ain't pretty, but it works even in a stiff wind !!
