I need a really good propane stove for camping. One or two burners, but I want something easy to use first thing in the morning when I want boiling water ASAP for coffee. Any great suggestions? thanks,
Sierraguy

Resurrecting this to point out that Camp Chef stove is on sale at REI for their Memorial Day sale. I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on it.

Unbelievable deal at REI right now.

This camp chef stove has 20K (each) BTU burners and is on sale for $80.
Plus, if you are an REI member, they are having a sale with 20% off.

The 20% can't be applied to this, unfortunately. It's only on full-price or outlet items. So I bought this, as well! http://www.rei.com/product/868765/alps- ... pecial-buy
(Applied my dividend from last year and it felt slightly illegal)

I had thought about getting one the larger camp chef stoves, but that seems like too much work. First car camping stove purchase!

Hot water

I plug in the red neck hot water heater if we have electric .

I use my redneck hot water heater for hot water for hot chocolate , hot tea, coffee (singles the tea bag type) and also have hot water for dishes and
some personal hygiene ( quick scrub of the stinky spots) I really like the coffee singles when I get an early morning visitor I hand him/her a cup of hot water and ask coffee, tea, or hot chocolate? The nice part about the coffee bags you can steep it as long as you want and make the coffee as strong as you want.

BTW the little orange and yellow antique Sears propane cook top was a $5.00 find at Goodwill about 85 campouts ago and it still served me well this past weekend.

I've been really happy with my MSR Pocket Rocket. Just takes a couple of minutes to boil water in the morning. I make mine leaning out the back door of the trailer without even getting out of bed sometimes. LOL

If space saving is a must it's great. It's tiny because it's made for backpackers.

I finally decide on this multi tasker propane campfire/stove/grill. It will boil 1 1/2 qts very quickly. It came with a carrying case for only $100 from Costco. I like it a lot.

Sum time ago (Years ago) I got one a them single burner ,butane stoves. They usually come in a plastic carry case. I bought one at a yard sale fer $7 to give to my daughter fer when the electricity fails in her neighborhood. I use it at car shows so I doesn't hafta set up my entire galley. It's quick AND convenient. It also doubles as a THIRD burner if I'm cookin fer more than jus meself. I also use them coffee bags..SO convenient ! And I bring tea and hot chocolate as well. Like BH said...it's SO easy to hand a friend a cup of hot water and let em decide which drink they prefer, tea, coffee,or hot chocolate. Them little butane stoves is GREAT ! Git one today...

I have the Camp Chef Everest, like Ukewarrior. Lots of heat. The challenge is getting the flame low enough. That's 'cuz the valve seals are sticky at first. You turn it down, and it turns itself back up. As it breaks in, the valves are loosening up and getting better.

One other problem I'm having is that the sparker quit working. Probably happened while I was voiding the warranty so I could screw it down. Now it's a major PITA to get inside to fix it. :fb

For all that, I'd still recommend it. Did I mention lots of heat?
