When your using a torsion axle, how do you determine the starting angle.

You need to know how high you want the frame from the ground, and use a table that shows the dimensions of the particular axle. For instance, here is the link to Dextor Torflex Torflex Literature

I kinda guessed. I figured that 45 would be too tall and 0 would be too short. I split the difference and got a 22.5. It's a little taller than I'd like (visually) but it worked out just fine for me (I've never scraped the rear end). Of course, your mileage may vary.

...for us, we used a 205-70-15 tire...this tire is slightly over 26" in diameter...a 0* start angle gives us about 12" clearance to the bottom of the axle tube...just what we were loking for...
