TS Trailer Tongue

Sdtripper,
The links you show do not go to the same trailer that you pictured in your first post. My trailer is like the first post picture. The links show trailers with sides and expanded metal floors on them. They are rated at 2000 lbs GVWR, but the no floor trailer is just 1500 lbs GVWR and a GAWR of 2000 lbs.

I think Rich (Nitetimes) is on to it. I was using the wrong wording I guess. It flexes. There is nothing broken. That was the first thing I checked. I think if they would have put two bolts through the back mount, it wouldn't be as bad. The angle is kind of twisting.
So Rich, if I do as I originally thought, by putting a 1" or 1.25" square tube across the trailer above the cross member and in between the floor sandwiching (that sounds funny). I can bolt the tube and cross member together to reinforce the cross member. Am I thinking right?
Maybe I will go ahead and weld the tongue to the mounts instead of bolting.

Thanks guys.
Dooner.

Dooner look in my albun and you can see what I done to my trailer which is the same one you have.
Mine was ok. I A framed it cause I just don't like a straight tounge, and I'm going to mount my battery and possible gas bottle also.
I am going to lengthen the tounge about 18".

Anyone who has bought the TS trailer can you share the website that they used to
get the 1,500 lb unit? The model number that was given would be nice?
Evidently the TS and Carry-On sites don't show a 1,500 lb unit that I can find.

Seems the TS website only shows 2,000 lb units and so how or where did you
get the 1,500 lb units?

Would like to uP date the forum information and so thank you for any help
you can give me. Want to give out the right data.

Dewayne,
Good job on that tongue. Looks like that maybe the way to go to be safe. Thanks.

Yep, that's pretty much what I am referring to.

Hey Steve, may I call you Steve?,
I'm glad to help. You know, when I bought the trailer, I was going by what info was here. Didn't really see any need to check the info on the trailer. When I got home, I thought I got shafted with 500 lbs less rating. I called the TS store and they assured me that all the 1000215s were all 1500 lbs. I guess when I get that tongue issue fixed, it should be enough for my TD plans. Minimal KISS.
Thanks for updating the info. It'll save someone else the shortage scare.
Dooner.
