HF Question

Postby RRJR » Tue May 05, 2015 10:32 am

I searched the forum but couldn't find the info.

Can anyone who has moved the springs under the axle on a HF trailer tell me what the deck height is after the swap?

The pdf file on the HF website says 25.5" for overall height. That seems kind of high. I'm guessing that's to the top of the fender.

Thanks

TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN,
YET AT THE SAME TIME, THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE,,, SO MAKE THE BEST OF IT WHILE YOU CAN, AND ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS

Well I'm not using any trailer yet. Although I have started building and I'm worried that I've built too tall unless i can find a trailer that the deck height is low enough.

The HF trailer I was asking about is the 1720# 4 x 8 model

I have a super heave duty( 2" ball round axle). The top of the frame is 16" with the axle above the spring and the middle leaf removed on a # 800 trailer.
PS: If you put a piece of plastic pipe over the bolt on the slipper end to the spring you will keep it from rattling when you hit a bump in the road.
