Trailer Frame Height

Postby WyoRon » Mon Jun 15, 2015 1:08 pm

I'm just curious about everyone's average height to the top of their trailer frame. In other words, what's a good range for starting your build on for comfort purposes (getting in and out). It will be towed behind a Ford Escape, so I know I have to take into account hitch height and top of coupler.

Howdy Wyoron, My floor is around 18" and is perfectly comfortable to sit in my doorway. Some want lips on their doorway. Not me.
Enjoy, Chris

I think my is going to be around 16, but my wife is 5'1" and likes that height. Might be a little low for me.

To the top of my harbor freight trailer frame is 18" and to the top of the decking is 20". The bottom of the door opening is about 2.5" above the decking. So far on my build I am going head first through the door then turning to sit down and it seems to be a comfortable height.
