Did you replace the HF trailer fenders?

Postby ukewarrior » Mon Oct 05, 2015 7:15 pm

I really don't like the standard fenders that come with the HF trailers.
I've had a HF trailer that I've used for years and the fenders have never been that great and have given me problems.

So... if you have actually used one of the replacement rounded fenders, I'd love to hear about it; especially if you have information about exactly what you used instead AND how you mounted it !
I'd like to move away from the HF standard mount and mount these in another fashion that is more resistant to vibration.

I bought galvanized round fenders from etrailer, also right angle recommend brackets. Placed fenders on original hf bracket, marked where to drill. Mounted right angle bracket about two inches from the front of fender, marked where other end of right angle bracket was about an inch off of frame. Drilled into frame, used spacer from hardware store. Although it was only bolted on top and front it was very solid. The customer I sold to specifically wanted a solid round fender.
