I recently bought one of Harbor Freight's 1720 Lb 4x8 trailers, item # 62647 on the receipt, but they mixed up the two boxes such that I have box #1 from 62647 and box #2 from 62671... Also, box #1 is from 2017 and box #2 is from 2020. Especially odd, considering I supposedly got the last one in stock - which means there's some other poor soul out there with a mismatched set of boxes, too. (and I can't just go back and swap parts to get the correct pieces unless / until they get more in stock)

Here's what I've learned about the differences between these two model numbers while trying to build a franken-trailer from bits of each of them:

62647 uses a 2 1/2" coupler channel, whereas 62671 uses a 2" coupler channel.
62647 uses a round axle, while 62671 uses a square axle.
62647 has four fasteners for the coupler, whereas 62671 only uses two.
62647 uses a larger variety of bolt sizes, whereas the hardware kit with 67671 has consolidated them into fewer sizes / lengths.

62671 safety chain S-hooks include locking clasps of sorts, kind of like a carabiner, to securely fasten them to your hitch.

I did not receive a Tow Bar T-Plate, nor any washers or cotter pins for the axle stubs - not sure if that's due to those items moving between boxes in the two different item numbers, or if they just fell out of my box #2 (it was damaged). According to build videos I've reviewed, the washers and cotter pins would have been included with the 62671 square axle.

Overall, I'd say 62647 is the stouter trailer, while 62671 includes a couple additional safety features / improvements.

There could be other differences which may only be apparent to me if my mixed-up boxes had been the other way around.
