Should I paint or Powdercoat the wheels on my '46 Kit? Pro's and Con's of each. Thanks

I usually will powder coat un painted or coated wheels and then sometimes paint to my color of choice if need be, the powder coat adds the protection needed I think.

Here is a cut and paste from Sparta Engineering:

Powder coating generally produces a coating twice as thick as standard paint. The real advantage is its flexibility and ability to bend and yield with the material it is applied to. This makes it ideal in the transportation industry where the products are subject to a lot of vibration and twisting as they move down the road. We have also found that they stand up way better to rock chips and other common road damage.
I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction, the world will have a generation of idiot's.

If you touch up scratches with enamel paint it seems to work.
It takez a bit to damage powdercoat, far more effort than to scratch paint

As a painter I like to paint my wheels and most everything else. I do this in case I get a chip or scratch in them. With powder coat its a lot harder and more expensive to
repair. If I get a chip with paint just a quick sand and blend and all done. Just my choice, especially on wheels and other high use and possible impact areas.

In my humble opinion the best part of the powder coat is that it is baked on. Produces a finish that is more durable. Just my opinion.
Colors are usually limited as the powder coat company you choose generally has basic colors only. Someone suggested earlier and I agree
that after powder coating you can then use a paint in the color of choice .
