stabilizer jack handle issue

Postby CalJanKoz » Sun Jul 30, 2017 9:51 am

So the trailer we got already has stabilizer jacks (yay!)

but...
once we have walls up we won't be able to use the handle to crank them.

Any suggestions or modifications?

I assume you we - I assume a lot of us - can't see the photo because of photobucket's change on 3rd party hosting"?

I can. It's a motorcycle trailer. Those jack's are usually used on tongue. If you want to use a similar jack get the side crank model.

Can see it now. Its not meant for the application. Lots of other jacks that will work well. Cut that one off and weld a stabilizer jack on.
Or a side handle one like padilen said

I realize this is an older thread, but you could remove the handles, buy a couple of cheap 3/8 ratchet extensions (yard sale, China tool store, Goodwill, etc.), cut the female ends off of the socket extensions, and weld them onto the ends of the jack shafts. Then you could carry a ratchet and use that to cycle the jacks up and down.

If it were me, I would remove the jacks altogether and install the kind that fits under the frame (just because I think it would look better).
