Postby ArkansasDon » Wed Feb 05, 2020 7:06 am

I installed a rear drop down table on the reat of my swing out spare tire carrier. We keep our kitchen set up @ the rear of our square drop. The reardoor is for storage only of our camping gear.

Pretty good idea for using space. I'd be careful of cooking too close to those spare tire straps, though. The heat might not harm them once or twice, but if it's a common occurrence, they may weaken over numerous exposures.

Just sayin'.....Roger

had the Seth McGinn;s Cancooker on the stove, cooking a stew that took 45 minutes slid my hand behind the stove & in bewteen zero heat. When I fabracted the mount theirs sufficient place between the spare tire & the Trasharoo trail bag straps w\o damage to them.

Which table to you get? I’ve been thinking about something like this, but can’t find dimensions. Especially the thickness when folded.

They make good stuff. I have one of their water tanks in my TV. How thick is the table when it's folded?

Found it. 2.1 inches, I'm guessing that's at the latch.

GREAT idea

i've seen these little tables and ones like them on expedition vehicles

specially the ones w/ the fan style shades that cover both the rear and side of the vehicles where their kitchens eminate from the rear of the vehicles like yours

yours is the 1st one i've personally seen on a swing out tire mount

the ones i've been seeing are mounted on swing out tailgates where the rest of the kitchen is in the back of the vehicle

for some it could be a combination of a drawer system and a swing out for folks w/ square back rigs ± ¿ ? !
