Plug or weld open skeleton tubes?

I have a HF metal chop saw that I use for most things metal. The chop saw blade will sometimes flex giving a cut that is not straight. So I have resorted to using an old 7 1/4 inch skil saw with a steel cutting blade. The blade is cheap, about 4 bucks and cuts straight. The blade does wear pretty quickly though. I don't use my good Mikita circular saw for this though.
