RedTrailer Specs

Postby AlStAubin » Tue May 09, 2006 11:56 pm

I have a RedTrailer 4X8 and after reviewing the link posted by "bdosborn" believe it to have a max load capcity of 965 and GVWR of 1180 with 4.80-8 tires. My question can this be used for a 4X8 teardrop or should I not waste my time and look for something with bigger GVWR. Sorry for the long post but anxious to get started building and camping. :hammerhead:

1180 should be fine. A 4X8 teardrop that weighs more than that would have a serious case of overbuilders syndrome.

Asian is right, you shouldn't have any problem with that trailer unless you get real carried away.

Thanks that eases my mind. what about the tires, I was thinking I would need to change the axle to get to a size 14. Now to workout the final design so many to choose from. leaning towards the Benroy also saw a cd for sale here somewhere that sound like a good place to review :guzzle:

You can use 14's without a problem as long as you watch the offset.
I'd say this is the CD Steve Frederick's CD that you are looking for.

Nitetimes, now to change the subject. looking at your album. Is your interior side wall framing cut from 1 piece of plywood. And whats with all the holes in the door frame, to lessen the weighe???
