CAD file for HF trailer?

Postby sheila » Mon Jun 29, 2009 4:00 pm

Does anyone have a model of the 5' wide HF trailer that they would be willing to share? I'm using SpaceClaim, but I can import quite a few different formats. 3D would be nice, but 2D would also work.

I have the 4x8... and you can probably just stretch it to get to the 5x8.

Let me eat dinner first... I'll be back in a bit...

Autocad can read a number of different formats, including SAT and Step.

that's really strange... it should...

okay here's the sat version... if you can't read that then Autocad is in the dark ages...

I clicked on the link for the .stp and my machine wanted to open a text file. I saved the file, renamed it with a .stp file extension, and then opened it in Solidworks. It opened with a perfect assembly file with (67) separate part files attached. Very nice!

That's the cleanest file conversion I've made in a while! Thanks for the info...for future use of course!

Darn AutoCAD!! It would at least let me try to open that last file, but then said invalid file contents.

I guess I can draw up a sketch for my model if someone could give me a couple quick numbers... I just need deck height and distance wheel is from back of the trailer.

I just exported it out as an Autocad 2007/2008 file. Give that a try...

P.S. You'll probably want to move the wheel rearward. The default location isn't good.
