Building materials

Postby ozichick » Mon Feb 13, 2017 2:11 am

I am currently researching building a TD. It was going to be timber frame, insulated, fiberglass skin. But someone mentioned fiberglass composite and it looks great. Esp to a noob with little building skills. Has anyone built (or had one built) with composite fiberglass and what pros and cons did they find please? Can you also shock me with prices....

What do you mean by fiberglass skin vs fiberglass composite?

Have you looked in the Foamies section for a light, cheap, and rot proof build option? Foam walls with canvas, Titebond 2, and paint for skins.

I think he means the fiberglass/wood composite that is being used for deck material. Looks like lumber but will last nearly forever. It's expensive though.
