Didn't all the Old timers have fixed open vents on their trailers... A trick we used on Kustom Vans long ago , was to put a small vent (s) in the floor too ( with cover... boat parts) ... which when used with a top or side vent ( or cracked open window ) , created a positive airflow ... Warm air rising and exiting the higher vent , cool fresh air entering from the bottom ... Now one of the more scientifically inclined among us , can calculate the airflow through a (X) diameter vent and determine the flow rate/vent size sufficient to support life inside a trailer... only variable is how many cows are going to be in the barn ....

And I have to Totally Agree with Auntie on the good sleeping bag thing ... Good bag and you're ready for most anything ... Doesn't everybody have sleeping bags left over from the "tent camping" days ???

I am planning on a side vent in my wall toward the roof with a computer fan. I've found some nive louvered covers that will keep the rain out. I was thinking of a small vent by my head too that will allow airflow up and through. I've looked at a lot of builds on here and many do an amazing job. The construction is so tight and perfect. We forget that our homes leak like crazy. We need some leakage especially in a small space.

Glad you woke up too. I read once that if you fall asleep in the snow, you're body will wake you up with shivering before you freeze to death. Our bodies really don't like to stop breathing. Glad your instincts kicked in for you.

A CLAM SHELL vent - about 2inch long and 1inch or so wide.

The first time I went out in our Little Guy I had the same experience. Now, no matter what I crack the ceiling vent a bit and crack the window in the base of the door a little. CO2 sinks so it's on the floor where we are.

At the Chesapeake Tearjerker gathering, there was another reverse LG there. The other RT campers told me the same thing - keep a window cracked. With one of the goldens periodically farting, I usually have the vent open for an emergency toxic air release LOL.
