Someone always getting on your nerves?

Postby absolutsnwbrdr » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:44 pm

Now I don't mean to start this thread to stir up any trouble. Its actually an attempt to try to alleviate some conflict.

I'm not sure why I havent noticed this before, but with this forum software you have the ability to "ignore" posts from any member who just seems to rub you the wrong way every time they touch their keyboard.

Well just follow these easy steps:

1. Find a post by the member that disgruntles you.

2. Click on their user name to visit their profile.

3. Below their location, occupation, groups, etc, there are two bold links. Click on "Add Foe"

Now any time that you are reading a thread that they have posted in, their post will simply be replaced with a single line text box that reads:

"This post was made by {user name} who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post."

If at anytime you decide to give {user name} another chance, just go to your User Control Panel, click on the "Friends & Foes" tab, and then remove them from your Foe's list.

Happy teardropping!

Perfect.... I've been meaning to ask if that was possible.

Now what does the friend thing do?

Still havent found any easy way to integrate that into a PHPBB forum. On some forums I've seen a "Thanks" button, but its a different platform than what this site and the Tearjerkers use.

Not entirely sure here. It varies depending on what modifications the forum administrators have installed. On some websites I've seen that the "Friends" posts and topics are highlighted.

Just tested this out with tapatalk and it is great, if a foe posts it hides the text but has a spoiler button that shows the text if you want to peek at it anyway.
