Coat the hatch

Postby ChefConroy » Mon Feb 13, 2017 8:23 pm

So, Franken-tear is progressing well. I'm like 90% done with the hatch, and problem occurs.
I've joined two pieces of marine ply with a bit of stainless flashing I found at Second Use in Seattle.
My buddy/spirit guide first said we should glass the bitch; buuuuuut today, he's all like, "dude, we can't do fiberglass, because it won't adhere to the metal." I'm all like, "fuuuuuuuuuuuuck." so he suggests plastidip, which I'm not thrilled about, because wood grain.
I come to you, oh wise folk of T&TTT: what do?Image

Sorry. I suck. Apparently bad words aren't encouraged on here, and I'm on mobile, so I dunno how to edit.

Look for a good two part resin. Should not be a problem.

Why not remove the metal and add on a piece of solid wood and then epoxy the whole thing?

Because I'm special and glued the ever-living crap out of the metal to the wood...
