You could do a lot worse than to use a good marine epoxy and fasten it with Raptor nails or staples — a nylon fiberglass composite. Once the epoxy has cured, the nails add no significant strength — they're there mostly to apply clamping pressure.
But, they can be cut with a saw or chisel, or sanded. They don't corrode. They're not susceptible to electrolysis. So, no need to remove the fasteners.
Popular for cold-molding boat hulls — what you're essentially doing with a teardrop and multiple layers of thin ply.
The drawback is they require a specialty pneumatic nail- or staple-gun.
