Trail Armor

Postby bluzharp » Sun Aug 16, 2009 11:17 am

I have been busy again getting the teardrop ready for this fall's rugged trail adventures and I have added trail armor this weekend. These are not really full blown rock rails but they are very tough and will prevent damage from minor miscalculations. They are strong enough to jack the trailer up from or to hook a strap to for extraction purposes. The running board will also be used to access the roof rack when it gets added and to make it easier to get in and out of the cabin as it is a pretty long reach to the ground from the door.

I like them. They look great. How much weight did they add?

I used about 27 feet of 1 3/4" X .095 tubing which comes out to 45 pounds or so.
