After I purchased it I discovered that it was a very rare Canadian built artillery trailer. Once I am certain i'm not going to ruin a historical artifact i'll begin to convert it to an off-road expedition trailer utilizing an RTT. Built by Brantford Coach & Body Ltd., 1120Lb. Capacity.

I decided to put the trailer up for auction to see if the collector community might be interested . The trailer did sell yesterday, to a canadian fellow, after 60+ years the trailer will be going home, probably to a museum after restoration. Now it's on to plan B which i'm sure will include a HF trailer. My time frame is to have a road worthy camper by the fall.

I have the trailer all loaded and ready for its trip home, oddly enough as I was pulling up in front of my house a fellow asked if he could talk to me about the trailer, turns out he has a Viet Nam era trailer he is willing to sell so I got his number and when I get back from this trip I'll take a look. It might be better than the HF route.

The Canada trip was pretty uneventful and turned out to be a nice ride. I have been looking for a "replacement" trailer for the Brantford and I found this and made the purchase, I pick it up tomorrow.

The plan for this trailer is Explorer type, not a lot of off-roading. First things first; I have it stored about 7 miles from my shop due to space constraints so I have to get the old wheels & tires off and get some "rollers" under it so I can move it back & forth to my shop.Ultimatly I hope to have the wheels & tires match the Jeep. Then a massive clean up, under & over. I have access to a small welder so I will be a) teaching myself to weld and b) patching the holes in the bed. Extend the tongue a bit, either by extension or re-welding a new tongue; this will have to be farmed out. Tongue box for my battery. Water supply on one side of the bed and a tool box on the other. I purchased an OasisII from CCC and will have to fabricate the mounting to the box. I'm going to try and make this a budget build and hoping to bring it in at 1k or less, depending on my ability to "scavenge" what I need. Once I get this project moving I'll start a build thread.
