ULTIMATE OFFROAD ~PROJECT~ TRAILER

Do you want the ultimate off-road camping trailer? This is what you need! Its a 1948 Bell System Splicer's Trailer. Its designed for off road service with 18" under body clearance & 13" under axle clearance. This trailer is originally designed to be pulled behind a Dodge Powerwagon and go up and over power-line roads. It has roll-up windows, plenty of room for the sleeping quarters, a large separate area in the rear that can easily be turned in to the galley. I had visions of turning it in to a hunting/fishing/camping rig but am getting too old for these projects.
It will need new tires. They are weather checked. They do hold air. I had the wheel bearings re-packed and the trailer is pullable as it is. The roll up windows need to be replaced (or not) due to age cracking of the safety glass. Other than the tires & windows and small areas of surface rust, this is a very sound trailer and has many possibilities. The trailer body's external measurements are 9' 6" long and 4' 10" high. The interior sleeping quarters is 6' 9" long and 4' wide. The galley area is 4' wide and tapers from 3' deep to 2' deep at the top. This is a very special trailer with unique features such as a removable hitch/tongue to deter theft, adjustable metal side vents with screens, authentic/original 16" "artillery" rims. This trailer tows with ease behind our Nissan Xterra. It would look great behind a Jeep or other off road type vehicle.

This trailer is located in Southern Oregon near Grants Pass (Cave Junction)

The price is $3500 firm.

...Sad to see it go. I was hoping that you would restore/update/remodel it.

I know I can't do it. That thing is almost as old as me and probably has as many upgrades needed as I do!

Here's hoping it goes to a good home.

You should also list over on Expedition Portal and IH8Mud in their for sale trailer sections.

Might get some better exposure to the off road/expedition crowd.

Good luck with the sale.
