Western Pa says "Hello!"

Postby Jester » Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:34 pm

I have been cruising this site for about 2 years and finally started a build. A big thanks goes out to all of those who have, through thier threads, given me much advice and even more important "things to stay away from". the project is actually my nephew's but i am using it as a learning tool for when i start my own, hopefully sooner than later!

I look forward to exchanging ideas, gleaning vast amounts of knowledge and giving y'all something to laugh at once in awhile!!

Welcome aboard guy!!! You've got the right approach...build one first, then do the one you want!! There's no such thing as 1 tear! There is a hefty price to pay however...it's pics! It's what feeds the forum! Tons of info and ideas here. Just ask and you will probably receive more than you ask for...If you get a chance...attend a gathering, it's a great way to get visual ideas, eats, beverages and meet some great people. Doug

Image to the bright side of the playground. 8) You've been around as long as I so you know the word. Pictures keep the bubble oil and the MadOnes happy.

Look forward to the progress or both teardrops. What kind will you build?

I'm sure your nephew thinks it's cool to be building a trailer with his uncle.

Building more like a TTT than a tear. The hatch scared me a bit and simplicity was a major concern. There are some curves but no hatch and door on the rear. Did do a sort of neat "iron Cross" window on the left side and a recycled RV window on the left. Stayed pretty much 4x8 with a 24" radius on the front and a 16" radius on the rear.

Nephew just got home...he was working on the trailer frame and just announced it will be done thursday.

Will attempt the "pic posting" on wednesday....too busy tomorrow and film not back yet.

Thanks for the encouragement

Gonna keep that in mind and check schedule. Gonna retite May 17th and take a few weeks off before starting a new career. That would be a nice trip. There was a gathering at keystone SP last summer, it's 20 minutes from home and I was too busy to make it. regret that !!

Will check out the posted event schedules and make some visits!!

Hi Jester,

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have another builder onboard. Finish the one with the nephew and then build one for yourself, and then another, and then another......they're like potato chips, can't build just one.

See you around.
