lurking in miami

Postby Guest » Fri Aug 04, 2006 1:08 am

Hi all eric here from miami fl

I've been lurking for a short while and must say this site is exactly what I was looking for.

My present situation is I want to step up from tent camping I primarily camp with my two sons 6 n 10 and my budget leans more towards a self built travel trailer with a bunk system for my boys. I have a boat trailer "majic tilt" I believe 1200lb axle that I am looking to convert . My car can only tow 1100lbs "2005 ford freestyle" with a max tounge wieght of 190lb.

Time frame reallistaclly would have to be six to eight months to build it

So with that I'm off to lurk some old post and gain as much knowledge as possible.

Once again great site and am looking foward to the build

8) Yeah, Eric...we've already got a "Guest", that's Dean from Eureka and I'm the Teardrop Nanny. Check out the Southwest Link or click on Pamplingrove at the top of the T&TTT site to see who/what we're all about. Have fun and stay tuned for lots of good ideas.

Howdy, neighbor! I'm from Coral Springs!

So I guess we'll be seeing each other down in the Keys, huh?

Also, keep an eye out for Woody, who's a little southeast of me. He hasn't been loggin on much lately, but he'll show up.

He actually FINISHED his tear, and was building a second one when he had a setback from Wilma.
Here we go again!

Eric, Welcome from another Floridian. I'm further north, but I also plan on making it to the Keys this winter. I joined just over a year ago, and my TTT has been designed, built, and sitting and waiting on some cooler weather to make it's first trip.

It sounds like you have a chassis for starting. Have you checked out Andrew's designs yet? I like the Compact and it is easily adapted to adding bunks overhead.

Good Luck and happy building.

Dean,

Mike...

Mike,
I thought I'd just have to abandon "Guest" and sign up again as "Dean in Eureka, CA"...
But if you can make the switch internal like... Swich away. I think it would be a great idea to allow unregistered newbies and lurkers the opportunity to at least say "Hi" in this forum...
(Sounds like there has been a few changes and upgrades, since I was on the other side of the fence...)
