new from Indiana

Postby breiman » Thu Oct 12, 2006 7:48 pm

Hello all, I am Bill Reiman from Indianapolis Indiana. Looking to build a tear this coming winter. Looking for plans and getting utility trailer ordered. The plans that seem to fit my needs is the Cubby provided by Kuffelcreek.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks coldbeer. It appears quite a few folks on here from the Hoosier State. First thing I have to decide fairly quickly is to go 4 wide or 5. which did you do and do you regret it.

There are lots of Teardrops in Indiana. I'm in Marion, Cold Beer is in Kokomo, and PT snoozer (Jim linder) is in Indiana., and there are plenty more.
Jim is a good source for "soft aluminum" trim as well as Aluminum siding and a lot of other things. [email protected]

Ask lots of questions: You're always welcomed to see my tear drop for basic ideas. Pm me and I'll give you directions.

Enjoy the build experience

Maybe we'll meet up one daya at a gathering. :shake hands: Scott

Hi Bill,

Welcome to the fourm...

I would suggest building a 5 footer... I know too many people who have built 4 footers who wished they had gone with a 5 footer.

Have you already checked out the Generic Benroy plans? You can build almost any profile using those plans...

Then if that's not enough, the design library and the hall of fame. I also have a couple ideas on my home page. Of course, if you want to build in aluminum, then the Cubby plans are very helpful.

Keep the questions coming...

Mike...

Thanks for input. I probably will go ahead with 5 wide. For those of you familiar with Indianapolis, I am in Oaklandon on northeast side of Indy.

this will probably be a mostly "weekends" project. How many hours does it take to get road ready and if you dont mind me asking is 2-$2,500 realistic budget?

Yeah but the four footer is cozyier that the five footer.; plus it's lighter. It's all personal preference. I'm happy with my four footer. I just need more gadgets.

Where is Greentown located Haven't heard of it?

There is also BKOne in Pendeleton IN, and someone from Fortville which are both also close to Indy.

You'll find the answers on here. somewhere or They can all be answered. I've been working on mine since May I'm slow and broke so I'm building one peice at a time. Plan to be done for the first close spring gathering.

My tear is very unique as in it is very large by tear standards. And no real plans I'm sort of planing as I go. 8) So Far it's working out well

You all talk about gatherings. Where and how often do TDers in Indiana get together?
