Hi, I'm new here!

I've thought about building a teardrop for awhile but I always tell myself I don't have the time or skill (mostly skill). So I bought a Pleasant Valley 4X8 model (with the flat hatch). Can anyone tell me about these things? It appears to be an evolution of the Little Guy. Nicely put together and just begging to be customized. The only downside is the overall shape is not nearly as cool as most.

My plan is to use it as a fishing shack for one. It should be great for that.

So far, I've been viewing the pics of galleys, trying to decide what to do with mine. The galley space is limited so it will have to be simple. I have seen about 100 ideas I would like to steal. You guys are craftsmen!

At the very least you will have a counter top at waist level without setting up a table. One of the things I found most difficult with some of my fishing places is the lack of a table when the Grandkids want to fix a meal. Don't know why they want to eat.

Aunti M, I was thinking, as the minimum, of mounting a stove on the shelf, and some sort of storage in the remaining space. Most forest campgrounds I use supply a table only, and my stove would then be off the table and out of the way. That's a starting point.

Having a stove available can be real handy if no grill is around. We go to places that have neither now so having the TD will be interesting. I am still planning my galley and have changed it several times.

Take your time and maybe camp a couple of times before you make changes that are hard to undo.

Today's idea (which will probably be obsolete tomorrow) is to mount a full-size shelf on top of the existing shelf, and then install the stove on that. The added shelf could be pulled out slides. There are two benefits: first, the stove would be a bit farther out of the galley where there is more headroom under the hatch, and second, the available shelf area would be doubled while the shelf is extended.

But I like your idea best: use it a couple times and see what evolves.
