newbie form new mexico

Postby Wolf » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:04 pm

8) Hello, everyone my name is Wolf and I am a newbie to this forum. I build my first teardrop in 03’ not much trailer just an old utility that we knocked the rails off and put a new body on. The only tools used were a circular saw, jigsaw and drill and it was done outside under trees in North Carolina dodging afternoon rainstorms almost every day. My next TD was in the fall of 04’ when we constructed “Jessica” she was built in a 10 by 20 storage shed in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We started up our website tearsojoy.com this same time. I have since built a larger five by ten for a gentleman in San Francisco, and followed that up with several “standard” size trailers. This last summer my wife and I bought property here in Tucumcari, New Mexico and now the old 2,100 square foot church is my new shop. We are just 4 blocks off of old route 66. 2007 finds us starting out the new year with an order for a Café model and I hope to be building more of these and finally getting to some of the models that have been on the drawing board for some time, namely the Streamliner. I also am looking forward to meeting some (if not all at some point) of the people whose posts I have been reading here and on the other forums at some of the gatherings this year. I am a bit closer o Minden now, and with luck will have the new ‘liner build by then.

Too bad that there isn’t a gathering here in Tucumcari…….yet. :(

Welcome, Wolf. I've seen your tears on the web in the past when I've been searching for teardrop information. Glad you're on the forum. The teardrops look really nice.

I thank everyone for the warm welcome. :) I wish I would have come here first before building my first trailer! Great people, great site! :applause: I my get to do some camping this year if I'm not too busy building trailers for everyone else. I still have not done an overnight in one! (taken a lot of naps in the ones I've build) Contructing from start to finish in 6 weeks will wear you out. Look for the Streamliner at Minden, I'll find a way to have it built by then.
