Hi From Alberta

Postby sharp21 » Mon Feb 12, 2007 10:56 pm

Hey gang
My young wife stated that she would no longer sleep on the ground in a drafty tent. The search for a trailer begun & ended with the Teardrop!
We both come from sailing backgrounds, so are used to small quarters & utilizing all space. The built in galley really appeals to our sensibilities as well!
Ill have plenty of questions as time goes on...
Cheers

Whoo Hoo, you just made a big step towards a teardrop. Getting the other half to buy into the idea is very important.

Somebody is here pretty much 24 hours a day so ask away.

Hi sharp21.

I'm in Alberta too, and sail a bit, although "sailing background" would never be used to describe me. I sail my 12' dinghy around mostly on Gull lake by Lacombe.

See my gallery for pics of what I am building in way of trailer.

Hi guys
Ill check your gallery right after this.
My grandfather was a merchant mariner & the first chance I got I ran away to sea. My wife is from ontario where we lived for a few years right on the lake.
I now am a professional mariner, working in the gulf of mexico. Recently moved back to AB for job opportunities for my wife, an interior designer. Plus its close to my family...

Im game for a campout, as long as it involves some offroading...
The better half & I are going to get started on this asap. Hopefully have it weather tight for a summer adventure!

Seems to me the obvious choice for an Alberta get together would be somewhere near RedDeer, since this would equal the distance for folks from Calgary or Edmonton areas to make the drive.

Of course I say this and I live 35k north of RedDeer :=)

There are quite a few places near here. Sylvan Lake, Gull Lake, Red Deer, etc. all have campgrounds.

I gotta get my trailer done first though !!!!!

Red Deer area sounds like a good idea. Maybe something later in the summer so that you guys have time to build.

Maybe if one of the admins is so inclined, they could include Alberta with BC for camp outings. We don't really fit anywhere right now.

Well Dean, Alberta and British Columbia are the 2 most western provinces. We'll get you educated yet

Just wondering how many there are in Alberta or BC that might be interested in a campout.
