Happy Presidents Day from the PNW!

Postby PaulM » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:22 pm

Hey all, my name is Paul. I am in the beginning stages of planning my first build. Never owned one before either.

I am a big backpacking buff and lately have found that it isn't nearly as fun anymore sitting at camp at night wondering what you wife and two kids are doing.

Camping is more their style and teardrops appeal to all. I can't wait to get started but realize this will take awhile. Familiar with woodworking, have a dirth of tools (but not enough!) and am really into wood turning (pens, bowls, etc.)

You guys are a wealth of info and I will learn a heap by hanging around.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the Play pen Paul M. I hope among those tools you have a camera cause we love pictures.

You are right about not enough tools. You can never have too many. However, many here have built beautiful Teardrops with very few.

Look forward to you progress. 8)

Welcome again Paul. You didn't tell me you were a fellow woodturner  . I belong to the South Puget Sound Woodturners In Fife. Are you planning on going to the spring Fling in Morton May 25th-28th? Bring along the family and a tent and you'll see lots of teardrops to get ideas from. :D Danny

Danny, yeah, my hobbies just keep getting more expensive every time I turn around. I have been trying to come up with neat ways to work in my turning on the tear. Flatwork is not my forte really, but lucky enough to have some amazing buddies that are.

Don't think I'll be at that one, although it would be nice to oogle many teardrops at once. Fife is quite close too!

Thanks again for saying hello.

Auntie M, yes, I have a really nice camera. Hopefully I can remember to document as I go.
