Hi from Seattle

Postby WhiteKrow » Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:26 pm

My wife (Ann), 6 year old son (Nick) and I are the new proud owners of a lightly used Hunter Shadow 3. We just picked it up from the previous owner last week and, after a few small repairs, had it out on the road over the weekend.

We've been tent and car campers for many years. It's so nice to get up off the ground and to be able to set up camp in 10 minutes or less!

Our first run was just testing our ability to get out the door and get the sleeping arrangements set up. I'm the camp cook, so the next step is to get the galley set up and start having some *real* fun out on the trail.

We all look forward to learning a ton from everyone here!

HI KEITH!!! WELCOME!!!

Just don't learn any cooking instructions from Dean in Eureka, CA:

The guy actually puts mayonnaise on pizza.

(It pisses him off every time I rib him about it, but I just laugh my ass off every time I make a joke about it.)
Here we go again!

Hi Keith and Ann. Congratulations on the Shadow. I know it is going to be easier to go with children. We did the tent and dirt thing when mine were little. :?

There are more than a couple of bunk ideas here for children.

Jeanette and EZ will not doubt be along with pictures of both theirs.

Jeanett's is a cloth and poll that works great. She has also left a hole in the side of her teardrop for the little guys feet as he gets bigger.

EZ's is a board type bunk that drops out of the way.

There are several more. One idea was to have the counter slide into the tear for extra sleeping.

Enjoy and please keep us in travel pictures. Keeps the bubble oil level. ;)

Welcome Keith, Congratulations on your new teardrop. There is a Tear drop club in the area and if you look under the Northwest section you'll find the calendar of events scheduled for 2007. The first TOW (Teardroppers of Oregon & Washington) event is the Spring Fling May 25th - May 28th in Morton WA. Hope to see you there, :D Danny

Hey Keith and Ann,

Welcome to northwest teardropping. We don't just let everyone become part of our group. It would put all these mega-trailer stores out of business.

I'm in Mt Vernon working hard to get my done before summer. So we can get out of our tent too.

Good morning again. I found the URL for Jeanette's build gallery. It will give you some great ideas for camping with children.

8) Hi from Edmonton, I just joined as well.

I spent many good times in Seattle and all the areas between Vancouver, BC and there. Then made the really goofy mistake to leave the PNW and the rain for -4o and sun in the winter :(

I know that your family will be just as delighted as I to have found this site and the wonderful members.
