new "old" camper

Postby retiredcamper » Sun Apr 15, 2007 2:12 pm

I've been camping all my life. First as a packpacker in a tent, then a a few years ago stepped up to a tent/trailer, and last month bought a Little Guy teardrop. In 42 days owning the camper I've camped 35 days.

missed places

Postby retiredcamper » Mon Apr 16, 2007 2:14 pm

Because of weather (snow) in MN I was delayed and missed the Mohamad Ali Center and the Louiville Slugger Baseball Bat factory. Other than that I hit all the spots I wanted to see.

My wife and I spent this weekend at Ft. Worden State Park and my next trip will be to the Washington State Park Host 'Camperee' at the end of the month. I'll spend a week there learning how to volunteer.

In mid June I start a 60 day trip through some Washington State Parks. I'm a disabled veteran and camp for free but I will volunteer two hours each day picking up trash, digging out fire pits or whatever they want me to due.

Happy camping.

How close are you to Spokane. We spent a year there in 1969 when my dad was in the Air Force. It is such beautiful country in Washington state, I'm sure you could camp there and never have to go anywhere else.

Hey, welcome and whoo hoo!! that you get to do all that camping! I sure hope you enjoy the teardrop !

I noticed you created a yahoo group to view your pictures.... so if anyone wants to see them they have to create a yahoo id etc....
Most folks , like me, just put photos in a yahoo album, not a group.

Just 2cents....
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

8)What a great ratio of TD camping and real life time. Hope you'll be keeping up the pace with the change of weather.

I never thought of that! Thanks for the tip.

I camp year-round. Since I can stay 20 days during off-season compared to 10 days in the summer I tend to even camp more in the winter.

I grew up in Spokane and lived there for about 20 years. I now live near Seattle but go back to Spokane often as my sister still lives there.

Have you ever camped at the Bowl and Pitcher? Its a wonderful State Park.

We didn't get to do any camping when we lived there. I would like to though, it's really pretty.

Hi there retiredcamper, I would love to view your pictures but dont seem to be able to get any on your site, am I doing something wrong.
Sounds good that, being able to camp out so many days.
Good look in your quest to view all the things you have planned.

Last I checked the link was still working. You do need a yahoo account to see the pictures though. If I can figure out how to post them here I will.
