Greeting from middle TN

Postby Little Dutch » Thu Sep 27, 2007 12:03 pm

Hey everyone –
Currently we have a Travel Star 18SB – it’s a hybrid. But we need a camper that will allow us to travel quickly and be gas efficient, so we have decided to build at Teardrop. Of course we will keep our other trailer and use it for in state camping.

We have looked at all the cool designs and have created one that meets our needs and wants – which is a place to lay our heads off the ground. Our plans call for no kitchen – just a sleeping area and a place for the porta-potty. Hence its name - NapSak. Nap= sleep Sak=to carry our clothes and things

Last weekend we started on the NapSak and things are going well. We are planning to have it completed by spring. Below is the model of the NapSak.

Thanks,

WooHoo! Another Middle Tennessean! I'm a newbie too.

Lots of good reading here. I'm buying, not building, but it's all useful.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Ira - oh boy!! I guess it's a good thing the spellings are different. Ours is spelled NapSak - with a capital N and S, and the other is Napsack. But thanks for letting us know. We hope this will not cause a problem.

Hi Kim and Steve,

Welcome to the forum. Your design looks good. Do you have any other pictures? Hope you jump in the conversation and have fun. And if you have questions, just ask, because we like questions. We also really like pictures, so post more when you have them.

See you around.

Thanks. Yes we do. :D I'll have Steve post them sometime this weekend. We just got back from Lowes. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend to work on the NapSak.

Thanks,
Kim

Hey Kim & Steve

Welcome! We're just down the road too--in the Boro. Hey about some blood blue to run with that orange?? ;)

We have a Pleasant Valley Silver Phantom that we bought unfinished and are customizing the interior. (Someday there will be pictures!) We are adding a very minimalist galley.

Good luck on your NapSak. I think it's ok to have two with the same name--esp. since yours is spelled differently :)

Image to the playground Kim and Steve. As you may have guessed pictures are a pretty important part of building around here. Keeps the bubble oil level, donchaknow!

Your plan looks good. I think a small galley or trunk space is handy for carrying those things you don't want to sleep with. Like the grill or charcoal.

Enjoy

Aunti M (Miriam)
You can never have enough pics. :D
I don't think you can tell from our model, but we are planning on having a shelf under the bed that pulls out in the trunk area. We are going to use it to hold our chairs, stove etc. - Great minds think alike. :applause:

Susan - cool. What does your Pleasant Valley Silver Phantom trailer look like?
Neal - you can say that again. TTT&T is an awesome place to hang out.
:)
Bill – Thanks for the welcome. Thankfully Philip is cool with our TD names being similar.

Thanks,
Kim

Welcome Little Dutch,
We are also from Tennessee, just up the road to the north.
Glad to see your model, it sounds like a good idea.
Our build also is just for the basics, sleeping and of course the Porti-Pot.
We plan to see the rest of the states that we have not as of yet seen, and the teardrop is just the answer.
Have fun building!!!!!
Living today and planning for tomorrow.

Yeah, we plan on using ours to see the far corners of the US too...the corners we have not seen yet. :)

It looks like there are several folks from TN that are part of TTT&T.

Thanks for the welcome.
