Postby Ken Fincher » Mon Oct 01, 2007 5:23 am

Hello to everyone.

I guess late is better than never, My name is Ken as I am sure you figured that out by now do to my screen name.

I signed up Aug 18th 2007 and I should have posted on this page sooner. I have looked into this site more then once, before I signed up.

Well I hope to get to meet a lot of you folks either online or even better at a gathering. I did attend the gathering at Montana De Oro in Ca. & had a real good time & met a lot of realy nice people, & I am sorry I did not meet eveyone there but in time I am sure I will.

I should not say I, I should say we as in me and Jan (my better half)

Well I started to get ready to build my teardrop around nov/Dec 2006 & started building it in late Dec and finished my build around March 2007

(Well I can't say I finished it do to I can always find somthing else to do to it) I am sure you can all relate to that.

I realy enjoyed building my teardrop and I think I am going to build onother one or two this winter.

I have posted some pictures of my TD in my album.

P.S. There is a couple of off the wall picks of a van & wagon w/ trailer those are not mine they are some we seen in our travels this summer.

And if anyone has any questions feel free to give me a yell. I am working on posting my teardrop build from start to finish on my web page I have some of my build already posted but it is going to take a little more time & I'll have it completly up & running.

Meet ya all soon. :ok: :miriams: :Flippin Burger: :campfire: :picnic: :relaxing: :icedtea: :vroom:

Chris and Dan I am sure that we will see you guys again maybe in a few weeks, I am not sure if jan is going to be able to get off work, They are doing a big remodel where she works at.
Being a supervisor does have advantages but not this time.

But I might go anyway Jan told me that I should.

Talk or see ya soon.

rack

Postby Ken Fincher » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:20 am

sam R

the rack is not a permenant fixture I was just seeing how it looked on my TD because on one of my last trips if I had a rack on it I could of came home with a yac & a canoe from Jans son.

He lives on one of the San Jaun Islands in Washington (Friday Harbor)
So I am continplating if I should put it or not.

Bill
if you are refering to the drip rails that are above my doors I picked them up at a local RV dealer here in Vegas (Johnnie Walker RV's 702-458-2092 or there web site www.johnniewalkerrvs.com) and ask for Rod or Howard there a couple of real good guys. if you call them let them know that ken with the black VegasTeardrop sent you.

But I am sure you can find them at most rv stores and they are not very expensive and they would be very light to ship they are made of aluminum, you would just need to know how wide your door is then add a few inches.

Bill, when I installed them I did put a 1/4" thick piece of foam that was sticky on one side, the sticky side I stuck to the drip rail then I pre drilled the holes then I screwed them on and I have no problems with leakage & they realy worked out good and they give a different look to my trailer then most other TD's you will see.
( they may call them somthing different just give them a discription or download a pic of my trailer and they will know exactly what you need)

Bill I hope this info may be of help to you.
