Hi from Socal....

Postby Socal Cherokee » Wed Oct 03, 2007 7:19 pm

Hi folks,
My name is Ron and I'm an addict. All lawful addictions of course, but no less dangerous; camping, woodworking, Jeeping, biking, family, friends and good times.
I've admired teardrops for some time but the current size of my family has led us to a slightly larger trailer, an '06 Jumping Jack. Although technically a 'popup', the style of a Jumping Jack has more in common with a teardrop, in my opinion.
I'm covertly planning a teardrop build however, and many modifications to my current camping rig. I've found this site to be quite useful, exactly what I'm searching for.

Here's a link to our first major camping trip after purchasing the trailer.

Hopefully I can contribute, I've already read quite a bit of good stuff. See ya around!

Welcome Ron, nice looking rig you have there. Dudleys Bakery in Santa Ysabel makes me home sick, some great baked goods there for sure. You'll find a few San Diego County members here. :D Danny

To the playground Ron and family! Thanks for sharing the pictures. We love them ya know. Planning a build can be as much fun as building and it looks like your family might really enjoy an enclosed space in cooler weather.

Enjoy

Welcome to the playground!! :)

I took a look at your pictures - that is a pretty neat tent set-up you have. I like the feature of the struts to raise the tent.

Ron,

Welcome and don't feel that you must do a teardrop with a expanding family. Although Teardrops are cool real cool.

Some of the members have TD's with slide outs others have square backs for more room.

Look at this one
http://home.earthlink.net/~g.teague/

there is a guy that is working with mike who was thinking of making a small version of the Trailmanor. The Idea most of us are doing is they are small and light in pulling and with today's gas prices it is coming true that we are going in the right direction.

look at Andews designs he lives next door in England and has some cool stuff.

this forum is full of refreshing new and old ideas that will help you get where you want. You could just build a teardrop as an escape from the family too.

So Ron welcome aboard.
