Hello From Centerville Ga

Postby ronnie » Fri Jun 20, 2008 1:29 pm

I'm interested and I'm contemplating building a modified version of the Lil-diner. To haul behind my 1960 Triumph tr3a. I'm having a difficult time deciding on the exterior material. Filon or aluminum. I have not yet priced the filon does anyone have an idea as to its cost?

Thanks
Ronnie

These folk can get you to the nearest dealer. Many of the semi trailer manafactures will have smaller pieces they are tossing as around if you know anyone that works at a trailer plant. If you find it there it will be translucent but paintable and best of all CHEAP !

P.S. Welcome to our little corner of insanity !

Houston,
That's just south of Macon. 3-5 hours drive from Blue Ridge/Cherry Log

I Get my Sorghum from Blairsville. ;)

Cherry Log is my P.O. but I live in Fannin County -- Blue Ridge.

Yep. 1 day 15 Hrs. 26 minutes and counting -- but whose counting.
Retired.

Image to the playground Ronnie. Getting lots of Georgia folks lately. You shouldn't have a problem finding a TD to look at.

I see you have the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: thing down pat and the bubble oil level so get to making sawdust. It's the only treatment ya know. 8)

Hi Ronnie,

Welcome to the forum.

Lil Diner... good choice!

As for the skin, filon is much heavier than aluminum.

You might also consider fiberglass or carbon fiber! :)

Mike...
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...
