Greetings From Seattle

Postby artquixotic » Wed Jun 29, 2016 10:50 pm

This is my first post in TNTTT, but I've been extracting information from y'all for months as I plan my build. Anyway, the build has started, and I think I'll start a thread in Non-Traditional Designs too. Long story short, I'm modifying my flatbed tilt trailer to be an off-road tiny camper.

Thanks for all of the helpful advice so far. I plan to listen to most of it and yet leave room for making stupid mistakes solely for your entertainment.

Cheers,
Andrew

Welcome to the forum, we're just down the road in Puyallup.
It appears your axle is almost on center of the trailer.
You may want to consider the 60% - 40% rule so the trailer doesn't dance all over the road and gives you proper tongue weight stability.
Place 60% of the front of the trailer in front of the axle and 40% behind the axle.
Good luck with your build, :D Danny

Thanks, halfdome. Weight distribution is a concern on my project. I'm really hoping I can find ways to move weight forward. I'm unable to move the axle back at this stage. I'm hoping to have a motorcycle on the front some of the time, but I'd like responsible weight distribution even without that.
