Hello from California (SF Bay Area)

Postby PaulLGCal » Tue Aug 30, 2016 3:36 pm

Hi All, I am just starting to plan my first TD build. This site has been a fantastic resource already. Hoping to complete the build by May of next year. I am certain to post a number of questions and would like to say thanks in advance for the support through the countless threads on this site. Paul, Los Gatos Calicornia.

Welcome,
I'm also in the Bay Area. In case you need a source, I found luan in San Francisco at Discount Building Supply. I have no affiliation with them.

Welcome aboard, David here. I live in the central valley. I found plenty of resources for parts and plans.
There is no right or wrong design. Try looking at a Trailer repair shop for metal skin ie:(big rig trailer repair). you can get 49"x110" sheets. I picked up some hardware from pick n pull as well as Habitat for humanity. As far the actual build... measure twice and cut once. good luck man! let me know if you need some tips
I can build that !!!!

Welcome! Watch for camp gatherings to start near the end of April. The Shasta Lake Gathering, near Redding, CA, is often the first one. You might try to make that one even if you aren't done with your build because you can get a ton of ideas and meet other builders, etc. It's a great group of people.
