Raven Argonette

Postby Arthur Daley » Thu Dec 29, 2016 7:14 am

We have a replica of a 1933/4 Raven Argonette caravan built a couple of years ago by a good friend of ours. The same dimensions as the original but completely scratch built.
It has a full size double bed, wooden slats fit over the two cupboards and three mattress sections pull out from the couch to make a double bed. two burner stove and sink in kitchen area, wardrobe and storage areas in side cupboards and overhead. Windows and frames were hand made.

Welcome to the Forum. Wow, that is way newbies are supposed to come on board, congratulations.
Wow, welcome to the forum. That was the perfect way to post your first newbie info. What a great looking rig, and I am sure you are very proud of it. The constructions pics were interesting, and I hope you enjoy your new toy. Keep us posted about your camping adventures, and if you have a few bucks and time, swing by So Calif for a visit, the coffee (or is it tea?) is always on. Good luck. :) 8) : Roly, the li'l ol' woody teardrop designer, builder and user in Sunny Southern California.

Very nice. I've always liked the Raven Argonette, it's good to see a nice set of photos! Do you have a photo with the bed made up?

Sadly no pictures with the bed made. There are three mattresses sections on the couch, one base and two backrests. the base is slatted and sits on the two cupboards and the runners between cupboards and rear of van. makes a full size double. a few more pictures of construction.
