Greetings from the Ozarks

Hello, all.

We've been stalking this site for information for a while and now that we have our trailer and are ready to begin our build, we thought it was time to join the club. I want to thank all of you contributors who have shared your builds and experience, it has been a wealth of knowledge for us as we have gone through our planning stages.

We have a lot of questions still and look forward to receiving some advice. Hopefully, we can share some of our knowledge, too. We will certainly share our build experience to help others.

To start with... here's the trailer we picked up. This boat trailer was modified by the previous owner and measures 69" (inside the wheels) x 10 feet long (not including the A-frame of the tongue - just the squared portion). We picked this up for a bargain ($350) and are re-working our design plans to fit these dimensions. Hubby is a former carpenter, so my biggest challenge is keeping him from "over-building" it and keeping the weight down.

Anyway, I'll post questions in the appropriate threads. Thanks, again!

Is there a better way to share photos?

I can not say how many times I have said "you are building an aircraft not a Tank". Ours has an all aluminum frame, wall and roof framing is 1 X 1.5 X .060 tube and covered by 1/8" plywood, Filon outside.
