My Teardrop Refurb Project

Postby kayakbuilder » Tue May 09, 2017 1:14 am

Hi, I'm Mike. I've been building kayaks as a hobby for years. My wife and I have a larger travel trailer that was just sitting around so we fixed it up and started renting it out. We did well enough that we decided to get another trailer, and I found a good deal on an '04 Freedom High Desert Designs Rocky Mountain Elk Special Edition Teardrop. It needed so fixing up, so we stripped off the camo wrap, installed a Fantastic Fan, and took care of other minor issues. Currently I am working on repairing a hole in the galley hatch and hope to have it done in time to take it for a shakedown cruise before our first renter uses it next month. After the hatch is finished, we'll spruce up the galley.

My wife picked out the plaid fabric for the curtains, and the vine leaf green paint for the galley.
