Back from a hiatus

Postby bsandey » Fri May 12, 2017 2:22 pm

I'm not new, but have been gone for quite a while. I was really interested in building myself a small camper, ordered the trailer frame, and got that put together, but then things just fell apart. Money got tight and had to put it on hold. Had a big need for a utility trailer, so put a floor and sides on the frame to use it for that. Then marriage went south, and we ended up divorced. Haven't really had anyplace that I could build one, so I finally ended up buying a manufactured camper - Aliner Ascape. So I did finally get my small camper, but went about it a different way than originally planned.

So that brings up a question: What's the consensus on manufactured trailers like this on this forum? I would think it falls in the "Tiny Travel Trailer" category (from tongue to rear, it's 13 ft, and 5-1/2 ft wide), but it's made by me with my hands. And don't worry about offending me - I will understand if this is more for hand made trailers instead of manufactured.

Mines manufactured, they haven't kicked me to the curb yet. Or tarred and feathers either.

Welcome back,

I too am back from about a 10 year hiatus. Sometimes life gets in the way but it is nice when the things come around and we can get back to the things we want to do!

Wow, there seem to be a lot of us who took a long break and are now back. I was gone nearly ten years when I came back in January. Welcome back.

Tars to expensive, we use pmf from oops paint and leaves. It's spring so you're safe.
