Hello from Luxembourg (super tiny country in Europe)

Postby tiiiiii85 » Sat Feb 03, 2018 11:28 am

Hello everybody,

My name is Tiziana I am Italian, currently living with my Polish husband in Luxembourg. Do you know where it is? Don't worry, nobody does! :D

It's the world's only remaining grand duchy and it is tiny, but also with nice forests and great camping areas. I have been camping in Italy with a tent for more than 10 years, but now that I live in central Europe the weather is not the best for tenting. I recently discovered the teardrop-campers at it was mind blowing!! Finally something my beloved Mini Cooper can pull and it's comfier than a tent!
My husband and I have no possibility to build our own teardrop camper, so we are choosing something to buy. I will nevertheless build some accessories, such as awning tents or wings. I am pretty sure I will learn a lot from you and I hope I'll be able to give some small contribution as well.
Cheers.

ps. sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker.

Wasn't James Bond running around Luxembourg and drinking martinis that were, "shaken not stirred?" Or do I have your country mixed up with Monaco? ; )

Great to see you here!

Welcome Tiziana, and your husband as well !! Tell him, Jak sie
masz przyjacielu ! ( I had to look that up ). I hope you can locate
a nice usable teardrop that will fit your needs. Good luck on your
search. One of the ladies here in Illinois, pulls her camper with
a Mini, so it can be done. We look forward to seeing some pictures
when you find your trailer. :pictures:

Tiziana, your English is just fine, much better then some folks that
were born here.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome!
James Bond went to Monaco, not Luxembourg. Here is banks everywhere, but no casinos. :)

I am searching for some companies who sell already homologated trailers and I found one I like:

They make the caravans in Latvia (one of the states on the Baltic Sea), so I assume they know how to insulate nicely the van. They also allow some personal requests. We will visit a dealer near our place in March and I want to ask relevant questions.
What should I check about the built? What are the musts for a safe and reliable teardrop? What should I ask to have for future upgrades?
I have experience in tenting, but none in towing and rv in general.

(Should I open a dedicated tread?)
