After some time reading many, many post and learning a great deal, I took my Fomie out for the maiden voyage with my grandson. When I figure out how to post pictures and get all my notes together I will share my build. many thanks to the members of this forum for their knowledge.

I don't have any pictures of bears-I have a few of the moose that walk through my yard though!
I really don't worry about bears-i did no put in a galley and keep a clean camp. Been backpacking in Denali National Park, and Kayaking in Valdez and Seward - Pretty heavily bear country. For the most part they are interested in the fish and berrys. I tend to be more concerned with the two-legged wild life, and i have the proper "guage" to keep everything safe. I will be posting my build as i can.
Yours is pretty cool- how did you attach the awning frame?

The awning is a extendable curtain rod. The bigger part is glued thru both walls of the camper. Inside it is a curtain rod and it is a extendable awning outside. It is also a roof support with a block in the center between the bar and the roof.

Thanks KennethW, that's a pretty cool set up. Do you have wood framing to support it?

alaska teardrop - i took a look at your post - really awesome work. I'm going to give a shot at posting my build in the fomies section.

No wood just 1 1/2 blue foam and canvas. The only wood is the 3/4 plywood drop floor, the toilet and the bed platform. The only metal is the solar panels, the awning tubes, rails for the tonoau cover, toilet box support galley counter support and the bed frames.
